Taking The Steps Our Babies Can't
Running for Sands in Manukau...
Remco Numan ran the Arthur Lydiard Legend Marathon on 18th September 2010 in recognition of Baby Loss Awareness Week. He carried 54 hearts showing our babies names across the finish line with pride.
Sadly due to adverse weather conditions, we could not hold our stall or balloon release. Although disappointing, we realised very quickly on the day that it was the right decision.
We are so proud of Remco for completing New Zealand's hardest marathon especially given that this was his first ever marathon.
Running for Sands in Napier..
On Sunday 9th November 2008, Cath Gibson ran the Napier Half-Marathon in rememberance of her precious niece, Anabella Giovenco, who was stillborn at 37 weeks.
Here are photos of Cath on the day, wearing a Sands t-shirt...
Cath organised sponsorship and raised $1890.00 for Sands New Zealand!! Thank you Cath - we are so appreciative of your efforts and your generosity!!
